NORTHPORT · LEELANAU PENINSULA

Northport rentals with room to gather.

A Leelanau getaway can mean beach days, a drive through wine country, or a slow afternoon together at the house. Northport is a base near the northern end of the peninsula, with Lake Michigan, village stops and the wider Leelanau area to explore.

The Mill Street House offers just over 2,600 square feet on one main level. Three private bedrooms have king beds, while the bunk lounge and sunroom add sleeping options for a larger group. Memory foam mattresses, a kitchen for shared meals, a beamed living room and a Jacuzzi J-300 hot tub make it easy to enjoy time at home between outings.

The yard is spacious, private and partially fenced. This is a house near beaches, rather than a waterfront property. Confirm the sleeping layout and house rules with your hosts before arranging a group stay.

BELLAIRE · SHANTY CREEK

A Bellaire condo for ski days and golf trips.

Choose Bellaire when your plans bring together skiing, golf and time around the Chain of Lakes. A condo gives your group a place to make breakfast, relax after a day out and decide what tomorrow should look like.

Shanty Creek Condo is a privately owned Summit Village stay near the Lakeview Hotel. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and four beds—a king, two queens and a Murphy bed—accommodate up to eight guests. The kitchen, fireplace and covered balcony bring the comforts of a home base to a weekend or longer getaway.

Plan transportation to Schuss Mountain for skiing. Shared pool and Lake Bellaire Beach Club access depend on current guest-pass arrangements; ask your hosts what is included for your dates. The calendar estimate applies the available weekly or monthly rate when your stay qualifies.

TWO HEARTED RIVER · UPPER PENINSULA

An off-grid cabin stay above the Two Hearted River.

An Upper Peninsula cabin trip asks a different kind of planning. At Camp Two Hearted, the setting is ten private acres above the river, north of Newberry. The main cabin and separate bunkhouse are rented together for one group.

This is an off-grid stay with solar power and generator support, propane heat, a wood stove, a screened porch and trails. Firewood and generator fuel are provided. The main cabin has two semi-private queen sleeping rooms with curtain doors and a loft with two twins. Four queen beds arranged as bunks are in the separate bunkhouse.

Bring drinking water, bedding and towels. There is no indoor bathroom: facilities include a rustic toilet and a seasonal outdoor shower. Guests clean before departure, so there is no cleaning fee. The river path is steep and seasonal roads need preparation; winter access may require snowmobiles. Confirm the route and conditions with the hosts. The primary guest must be 25 or older and complete the host’s photo-ID review.

How Mitten Stays works
How do I book a stay?

Open a property’s details to see its booking options. Hosted properties show a calendar and request form; other listings link to the host’s own website or Facebook page. Your hosts confirm the details and booking terms directly. A calendar request alone does not reserve dates or collect payment.

Are the calendar dates confirmed?

Hosted calendars show known unavailable nights. Other booking calendars may not be fully synchronized, so your hosts confirm final availability before accepting your stay. Check the full price, cleaning charges, taxes and cancellation terms with them before paying.

How should I compare sleeping arrangements?

Look at bedrooms and beds separately, along with bathroom facilities and privacy. A king bedroom, a bunk lounge and a loft offer different kinds of space. Read the property description and ask your hosts whether the layout suits your group.

Can I list my own Michigan rental?

Yes. Basic listings connect guests to your own website or direct Facebook page for $99 per property per year, with no booking fee. Full Hosting includes a basic website and calendar: $500 one-time startup, $250 per year and one $10 host fee per confirmed booking through the managed tools. Learn about listing your rental or compare the two plans. Setup and activation are arranged with you first.
